OIF Membership Information

Types of Membership

Three levels of membership are available: Principal, Auditing and/or Academic membership. These separate levels of membership provide members a choice of the level of involvement and contributions that they are capable of investing in the OIF. Membership fees are quarterly pro-rated, with the exception of Academic membership.  OIF membership year runs from June 1 – May 31, and are pro-rated accordingly.  If joining in the last quarter of the membership year (March-May), you will be invoiced for the current quarter along with the entire next membership year amount.  Membership Fee must be paid in full in order to “activate” a company’s access to OIF materials.

Clarification of Definition of ‘Material Financial Relationship’ – OIF Bylaws Section 3.2 (c)
An Affilliate is any company which, based upon a determination by the Board of Directors, (i) whose voting equity securities are owned or controlled 50% or more by, or which owns or controls 50% or more of the voting equity securities of, a Principal Member, or (ii) which is subject to a material financial relationship with a Principal Member which results in the control of, or the right to control or direct policy of, such other entity.
An Affiliate, for as long as it remains affiliated with a Principal Member, shall only be eligible for Auditing membership. This is to limit voting to one vote per aggregate entity.
Any company that is not an Affiliate, despite its ownership of 49% or less of the voting equity securities of a Principal Member, or despite the ownership of 49% or less of its voting equity securities, as determined by the Board of Directors, shall be considered a separate entity and shall therefore be eligible for a Principal Membership.
