Ghani Abbas
Ghani Abbas has spent over twenty years in SDH and Optical Networks business, initially with GPT, Marconi and recently with Ericsson, UK. He is currently international standards Consultant in the Optical Networks product strategy department. He previously held various engineering development and management posts. He is currently the rapporteur for ITU-T SG15 Q9, which develops standards for transport network equipment and network protection and restoration. He is an active member of IEEE802.3, OIF, ITU-T SG15. Ghani received B.Sc (Honour) from Manchester University in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D degree in Electronics from Southampton University, UK.

Dave Brown
Dave is responsible for Optics product marketing with focus on the flagship 1830 Photonic Service Switch platform. He has 31 years of experience in telecommunications marketing including prior roles in Lucent Technologies, AT&T Microelectronics and a contract manufacturing venture.
As a Board member of the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) Dave guides OIF strategy and programs focused on accelerating the development and deployment of interoperable optical networks. Dave completed executive management programs at The Wharton School-University of Pennsylvania and Thunderbird-The American Graduate School of International Management.

Hans-Martin Foisel
Hans-Martin Foisel joined the Optical Internetworking Forum in 1998, he has served as president 2007-2010 and is the Carrier Working Group Chair since 2002. In these roles he was involved in the developments of multi-domain, multi-layer networking solutions as well as 100G/100G+ technologies and systems. At Deutsche Telekom he is Head of Hybrid Network Technology in the Fixed Mobile Engineering Germany Department. His main activities are comprised of intelligent optical networks, broadband access networks and their basic infrastructure elements and systems. He has more than 30 years of experience in optical telecommunication R&D, design, architecture and technology including prior roles at Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institute in Berlin.

John McDonough
John has been involved in the telecommunications industry for over 25 years, both in the service provider (NYNEX) end of the business and the supplier (Pirelli Optical Systems & CISCO) end of the business and now as Senior Manager - Technology Strategy, NEC America.
His experience covers both data communications and telephony. Areas of involvement have been network management and optical transport technology (OTN). John has served as the Chair of ATIS Technical Subcommittee T1M1 (now TMOC) for Network Management in the old Committee
T1 dealing with OAM&P issues and technology standards development and has served on the OIF Board of Directors. He is the NEC America primary representative to ATIS COAST (Optical Transport and Access), ITU-T SG 15 and IEEE 802.3 for Optical Technology and OTN business strategy. John was the Chair of the ATIS COAST committee.

Vishnu Shukla
Vishnu Shukla is a Principal Technologist at Verizon. He has more than 25 years experience in optical network design and development, technology transfer and overall technology planning. His current responsibilities include development of the next generation network architecture, analyzing the current state-of-the-art technology trends and developments and evaluation of its strategic impact on Verizon. Vishnu contributes to the Verizon’s participation in multi-disciplined standards concerning leading edge technologies. He holds a PhD from the University of Wales, U.K. and an MBA from Northeastern University, Boston. He is a member of IEEE and OSA.

David Stauffer
Dr. Stauffer is a Senior Technical Staff Member in the IBM High Speed Serdes and Memory Interface Development group, and is also the chair of the OIF Physical and Link Layer Working Group. He serves as IBM's representative to OIF and to the INCITS T11.2 Fibre Channel Physical Variants Task Group and has contributed to standards development in both of these organizations. Recent publications include the text "High Speed Serdes Devices and Applications" (Springer, 2008).

Jonathan Sadler
Jonathan Sadler is a Senior Product Planner in the Optical Network Group at Tellabs. With over 20 years of data communications experience as a protocol implementer, network element designer, carrier network operations manager, and carrier network planner, Jonathan brings a broad set of knowledge and experiences to the design and analysis of carrier network technology. Currently, Jonathan is involved in the development of technologies providing the efficient transport of packet oriented services in Carrier Networks. Jonathan is the Chairman of the Optical Internetworking Forum's Technical Committee and an active participant in the IETF and ITU. Jonathan studied Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

Nathan Tracy
Nathan Tracy has 29 years of experience in Technology Development, Marketing, Sales, and Business Development for TE Connectivity (formerly Tyco Electronics). The initial 16 years were with M/A-COM prior to being acquired by TE Connectivity. Currently, he is a Global Industry Manager at TE, driving new product development for the Data Communications Market. He serves the OIF as the Technical Committee Vice Chair. Nathan is involved in a number of other outside industry associations. Presently he is a regular attendee and contributor to the Ethernet Alliance, and IEEE 802.3. Nathan earned his Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering Technology degree from the University of Massachusetts, North Dartmouth.
